Horsetooth Falls

Last Saturday's hike was a great one for wildflowers, and the falls were flowing, which isn't a given around here. Also, the pool below the falls was full, and flowing out the other side, which I have not seen before, and I have been on this hike maybe five or six times.
So I give you some highlights of the flowers...
Geranium fremontii, I think
Wild flax
Clematis hirsutissima
Wild rose
Spiderwort

Evening primrose

(I don't know these, and I don't know if this is scenery or flora....)

Of some scenery...

Serious field of gold

The backyard where we get to play.

  1. Lovely flora! We had a nice walk today - only 80 degrees and cloudy! In June! In the desert! It was a gift!

  6. Wow, it's lovely and green there right now. I had heard you had plenty of moisture so far. Looks like a great hike. I never went up to Horsetooth Falls. I always loved what I called "wild" geraniums.
