It feels good.
I wore it to meet my old college friend for lunch on Sunday, and a woman who was leaving the restaurant as we were walking in said, ‘What a lovely sweater.’
I wanted to say ‘Heck yeah! I just sewed the buttons on this morning!’
But I didn’t. Instead, I said, ‘Thank you.’
And I really meant it.

It's lovely Becky! You should be darned proud!! I *might* be able to do the knitting up part, but the finishing up part ... well ... probably not. I still have a really pretty tee I knitted years ago that I never did the finish work on. I am lousy at seaming!

Oh Becky -- that is a beautiful sweater and the fit is just perfect (as well as the color, style, etc. etc.) You certainly can knit up one fine looking garment.

ReplyDeleteOh, you should be proud! It's beautiful! Looks so perfect, it doesn't seem to have needed blocking. :) But I know that only makes it better!
ReplyDeleteLynne - NO seams. None. Zero. Only finishing was sewing on the buttons.
ReplyDeleteSnowcatcher - I did have to block it, but I have a handy dandy steamer that I still thank my lucky stars for. And a dry climate that makes short shift of that task!

ReplyDeleteI looked at the "recipe" and found some things kind of ambiguous to a somewhat novice knitter. Something about "spacing your yarn overs equally amongst some 1oo+ stitches. Right about then my eyes crossed over...
