Libraries are few and far between here. Lucky for me, the institute where I work has a small library. Most of the books are old, but still there is interesting reading. the drawback is that in order to check out a book, I have to have been working there for a year and become a member. Otherwise, I have to grab a few minutes with a book between classes, inside the library. Inconvenient, but better than no reading at all. It could become a major hang-out for me again!Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05301635466561126804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763985013725565641.post-52966137162711860712008-10-03T23:07:00.000-06:002008-10-03T23:07:00.000-06:00Eee. Milo, Tock, and the Humbug leaping to the Isle of Conclusions and having to swim through the Sea of Knowledge to return -- though the Humbug comes out perfectly dry... the Mathemagician and King AzAz... the Princess of Sweet Rhyme and the Princess of Pure Reason...

The Princess Bride isn't bad, except I didn't really like the ending. I was never quite sure if everyone (except the evil characters, of course) had a happy ending or not.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763985013725565641.post-71133259049098149232008-10-03T21:20:00.000-06:002008-10-03T21:20:00.000-06:00Nice haul! I don't know how you do it. . . knit, work, ride a bike, hike, work in the yard, blog, keep in touch with your girls, travel, cook, etc. You are one heck of a woman! My mother-in-law once sent me a book (large format paperback) that she had literally cut in half in order to read it in bed better. ACK!!!! Murder!!!! I have not lent her a book of mine since. Can't risk it.

I've never heard of the Phantom Tollbooth.

Trains in Ft. Collins: not a ton of them coming through but when they do, watch out!

I recently went through my bookshelves and have stacks to donate either to the library or I hear that the nursing home really needs extra books.

The best and most favorite I keep for myself. My husband doesn't understand why I can't get rid of some books after I read them. Hmmm....Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05875008154587045790noreply@blogger.com
