I backed it up. Truly I did.
But it still went away, not to be recovered.
I tried some tricks, but some of it has just disappeared. Guess it is just time to start over with some stuff.
And I can be okay with that.
I reconstructed parts that I could easily, and that I thought were important.
Somewhere in there is an analogy for life.
One fun thing about it all. When I reloaded the script for the readability level of this little effort of mine (found at the bottom of the page), I found I have been promoted to college (post grad). Oooh! Just look at the fun little pictures. Atoms! Rockets! Test tubes! After my own heart it is...
Onward.
I played bunko last night, as I do when called in as a substitute for the neighborhood group. I was the BIG WINNER last night! Most Bunkos! Highest Score! And it was the holiday gift exchange. I walked out with a calla lily bulb kit that I can't wait to start. Watch out, Dearest Sister...I will soon have a kitchen farm of my own!
When I got home, I found Wonderful Guy had spent his time shopping for a new battery for my cell phone. Determined the better way to go was a whole new phone. Be assured I had done some preliminary research into this as well. He knew what I had been thinking I was wanting. Nothing super fancy. No blackberry or iPhone, but a fun new shiny thing...to learn...on top of rebuilding the blog...and planting the callas....and decorating for Christmas...and cards...and completing the shopping...
Oh, and there's more. Lots more.

Oops....
...I was fiddling with a new template...
...and some things went away....
....and I don't have time to find them right now....
...so don't think it's you who is missing stuff....
Good thing I was going to start over with the book list next year. Sure wish I would have got a count, though.
Dearest Sister, you can quit laughing now...

Momma Knows Things!
While on vacation, our first stop was in Salt Lake City to visit Middle Daughter for...oh...about 24 hours exactly! She was so looking forward to see us, and had every minute planned to ensure a good time would be had by all.
So after our arrival and hugs and grins and other necessary activities...she proceeded to share her plans.
First lunch here....then seeing this there....then the SO's son's hockey game and dinner here...and Sunday breakfast at Ruth's...
I interrupted. "Ruth's Diner? With biscuits?"
The look on her face was what I strived for while my daughters were growing up. That stunned look that came when they figured out that Mom...she knowsThings!
I love getting that look. It gives me such a sense of power.
"You know about Ruth's?", she said.
"Oh yes." I replied smugly.
Then I spilled the beans. I told her I have Readers! Salt Lake City Readers!

mmmmm.....biscuits.....
Thanks, I will just take them now on my hips, thankyouverymuch.

Knitty Booty
Wisest Sister had collected knitting and crochet apparati from Momma and her sisters, Wisest Sister's MIL, and Deeply Missed Sister. She took the recent visit of Dearest Sister to divest herself of some duplicates.
And Dearest Sister shared with me. The night before Thanksgiving we sat and sorted and divided amongst ourselves.
Behold!
Needles from size one to 17! And just about everything in between.

Single points and DPNs. They're all there.
(I left the circs for Dearest Sister. I am sort of a KnitPick's elitest...)

As for crochet hooks, omylord. Teetinyitsybitsyones to more regular sizes that I used to think were smallish. I was wrong.
As God is my witness, I will never have to buy knitting needles again!
....unless they are Knitpicks nickel plated circs.
....or maybe in some other instance that I may have overlooked and in which case I have way overstated my position and perhaps I had better retract my previous statement because on occasion Wonderful Guy does read this and it is exactly the sort of thing he might try to hold me to....

X is for...
...Xylophone.
Digging around for the old play kitchen set to give to Youngest Daughter for the Grandbebe Girl, we stumbled upon some selected old toys I had held onto.
I let her have most, but held on to a few select ones for Grandmama's house...the 'antique' Fisher-Price xylophone and telephone.

Amazing in this era of cells and cordless phones, Grandbebe Girl knew how to play with the old fashioned rotary dial and corded reciever. Must be encoded memories in our DNA.

Needles of Iron
Welcome...
...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.
