Yesterday I got out the spinning wheel, and spun some burnt orange merino. I know some who can call their roving with wonderful and descriptive names. Alas, I cannot, unless it is totally obvious. Perhaps Colorado Bronco Sunset.....well maybe not. I needed time and space from knitting. Certainly, I need time and space from a certain WIP (almost, and certainly should be, an FO).
It worked. I am able to look at the situation fresh and anew. Or at least more reasonably.
I am going to go ahead and frog the forest canopy, again, but this time (!) back past the last repeat, (carefully noting how far back to go this time) and try again. Really all the way this time. Tonight. After all, it worked for the Jayhawks Saturday!
Notice that I am no longer capitalizing the shawl’s name. Perhaps when it is blocked and beautiful and all the love for it is back, it will regain its capital-ness.
Spinning was fun, though. I was a bit concerned that perhaps I had forgotten how, what with all the magic loopiness going on. I have realized that I have yet to knit any of my handspun.
Where’s my list of ‘things to do’!
Also accomplished yesterday, in the spirit of staying away from the ‘forest’, I cleaned up and organized my craft closet/scrapbook area.
Before…well, I seem to have deleted the 'before' photo I took a few months ago. Or likely it is lurking somewhere on my computer and I will find it a few days hence. Feel free to imagine a certain disorganization...
Nevertheless, a proud 'after' shot…
When I proudly claimed success to Wonderful Guy, his discerning eye could not tell the difference. Ahh well. At least I feel better about it, and it is ready to go when I am.
I have my eye on some photoshop tutorials I am going to work through, then work on scrapbooking those efforts. Also, Youngest Daughter is sponsoring a ‘stamp club’ in which I am going to participate. That may bring motivation in the same direction. My scrapbooking and cardmaking time has lagged of late. I enjoy the process, and the finished worked, which mostly end up as very appreciated gifts. Perhaps just a little jumpstart is needed to get going in that direction again.
We sat outside in sweatshirts at Grandbebe Girl’s birthday celebration yesterday, enjoying Spring. Today we woke to snow. It will be a chilly week, but the little green growing things appreciate all the moisture. They poke their heads out of the thin, white blanket most determinedly!
Go KU!

Welcome...
...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.
