Seconds on Saturday

Harvested flowers, just after opening, per the official 'ways and means' of herbs, their growing and uses book (official title) (not really).

All laid out and drying, but not down in the cool and dark basement. Not just yet. Because they are just too pretty and fragrant...ooh, are they fragrant....

Here I am, getting all artsy, or as artsy as I get. And this is after the harvest. It was the best time to do this, cool in the morning, in the sunlight, and dry (I made Wonderful Guy leave the sprinklers off...I mean, seriously, with the rain we have been having?)

And then he decided a photo was needed of 'you with your lavender'. Again. After the harvesting. On my left? There is another lavender plant, and it has propagated itself a couple of other places, too.
I have tried for years to get a good stand. I have tried different places with different sun exposures, different drainage, different towns, different states even. I think the front yard in FC, Colorado is working nicely.

Lovely!!!

I think you have a great stand of lavender going on there! I tried while living in Co and never seemed to get a good patch going. Here, I don't have the full sun needed. I saw a great article years ago on weaving the lavender blossoms into a sachet kind of thing. It was not hard and was a wonderful way of preserving their fragrance. Maybe you should google it!

I've heard from a friend in Loveland about all your rain this year. Hey, you gotta love it! :)

I just planted my first lavender plant this year, and probably won't get flowers this year. Thanks for sharing yours!

I've been moving lavender around for years and it's never looked as good as yours! It's really beautiful.

Now that's a nice lavender plant and it's so sweet that "Wonderful Guy" thought to take a photo of you with this beautiful plant. You're a lucky person to have found him....but so is he to have found you!

...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.
