I had to work today and the Guy did not. He bought an aquarium. His plan is for the salt water variety. I am thinking I will get some yarn mileage out this! That's okay. He needs a winter hobby when he can't ride the Bandit.
I found Paton's Classic Wool on sale at Michael's and sucked it up to go there. It was a very good sale, but that is not my favorite place to shop. It...smells funny there, and no matter where I go, KC, Philly, or here, they all smell identical! Anyway. More slippers in the queue in a veritable rainbow of colors.
DSis and I have plane tickets and plans for a trip to Philly/NYC end of February/first of March to see each of our firstborn. We will take in the Philly Flower Show, and whatever Precious Niece digs up for us to see in the Big Apple. I hear there are a few interesting things there. Besides the Naked Cowboy who we already saw when we were there before.
Must...start...quilting....again...
I headed to the PO to mail my two packages after work. I knew they weren't open, but planned to use the helpful kiosk to buy postage, which I did, and then found the package dumpster full up and LOCKED UP TIGHT. Said packages are postage paid and in the back seat of my car. Little things...whatever.
And that is all I have tonight.

Welcome...
...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.

I am a big fan of Paton's Classic Wool. I just like the feel of it. Currently, I'm using it to finish up the large batch of mittens I am knitting.
Salt water fish sound high maintenence! Always pretty to look at, though!
Did I sense a bit of frustration with your postal conspirators, I mean, workers?
I know what you mean about Michaels! Don't like to shop there either. Will choose Hobby Lobby or JoAnn for inexpensive nice yarn every time. Planning on getting a fresh water aquarium for the little one for his third birthday. He goes nuts over "Shish"!
I want to go to Greensburg, Pa and to New York-- and I'd like to go to Washington DC. But I want Levi and Dennis to go so they can teach me some history! Levi is so fortunate-- he has been East for the last 3 years. He has met some wonderful people! Maybe I will write about it on my blog!
Oh my ... Rick always wanted an aquarium but we decided it was too much work. Somehow I knew it would be be that ended up cleaning it. They are beautiful though and the fish are so calming.
I don't think our Michael's has that smell. ;)
If you have time while in the Big Apple, give me a call. Maybe I can take the train in and we can just meet for lunch, or just have a meet and greet!
I have come to think of Patons Classic Wool as my workhorse yarn.
And the aquarium is definitely the Guy's thing. He loves fish, and has had fresh water set-ups before. That he took good care of. By himself.
Tish, you can learn the history!
Lynne, when we figure out a schedule, I will see what might work.
Your upcoming trip sounds very fun! Have a great time. The St. Regis in Manhattan is a pretty fab place for high tea, if you and Jan are so inclined.
PS: Be sure to take lots of photos of the naked cowboy. That should send your blog visits through the roof!
Safe travels.
I bought the pattern for the slippers in Nov and have not made them yet. Did you get the update on the pattern this week. I haven't read it carefully enough to figure out what has changed. So jealous of your trip to the Big Apple. Say hi to my daughter when you are there!
