While I Was Gone

He bought this.

Lest the wrong idea be taken, the search had been ongoing for a replacement for the 2003 Bandit for a while, and when this 2008 model was spied, and found to be such a good bargain, a deal was struck.

So not like a ‘Look what I bought while you were out of state with your sister’ thing.

Because that so wouldn’t float my boat!

Revenge would be exacted.

Anyway. It was picked up yesterday, and when I get home from work, I am met at the door with Wonderful Guy’s smiley face. He’s all ‘did you see it?’.

I am not going to miss what is preventing me from parking in the garage.

It is a pretty thing.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Wonderful Guy and I have had a full weekend of activity. I am not even sure I remember what we did on Friday evening, it was so long ago.

Saturday, we rode the Bandit to Estes Park and took in the Alpaca Festival. I am now in love with Paco Vicunas. Also, I won a door prize, a skein of alpaca yarn. I just love winning!

And I bought some lace weight Misti Alpaca on sale for knitting into a nice big shawl. I got plenty of yardage for it.

We continued on the Bandit across the peak to peak highway. The weather was glorious and grand, and the ride was wonderful.

Sunday, after our meeting, we had breakfast with Youngest Daughter, Bebe Daddy, and Grandbebe Girl. Afterwards, Wonderful Guy and I rode our bikes for a ways. Quite a ways, to hear him tell it! I took my camera this time, because I wanted to get a shot of this,

and this

...and look what else we saw!

Today, I started digging iris. My goal is to get a little done at a time over the next two weeks, so I don't completely kick my butt doing it this year. And again, I am wondering, what am I going to do with all these rhizomes?

My finished iPod Pocket, all felted and finished up all snazzily-like. I think I might have done this on Friday...

B is for Bandit…

The Bandit is Wonderful Guy’s motorcycle. This is no ‘mid-life crisis’ object. He has been on ‘motorbikes’ (as he calls them) since he was a little guy. This Bandit is his second Bandit, and he’s had it just about as long as I have been keeping him company.

The first time he took me for a ride, we were still ‘just friends’. I had been for rides on motorcycles before, but only little, short rides, around a couple of blocks, or a mile or two, around town. Wonderful Guy took me out for a couple of hours, into the mountains.

It. Was. Exhilarating. I had a wide open view of the mountains in September like I had not ever had before. And with the helmet on, I was alone to contemplate…whatever needed contemplating. The next time he took me for a ride, about 6 weeks later, it was October. The afternoon drew to a close sooner, and was much cooler. By the time we got back home, I was a more experienced rider where cooler temperatures were concerned. Boy, was I chilly. All I could think of was getting home and a hot shower!
We had grown closer in our friendship over the previous weeks, and had been eating dinner together regularly. After a quick mental inventory of my pantry, I offered a gourmet meal of…spaghetti ! .....after I had a chance to warm up. So we shared some spaghetti, and garlic bread, and a bottle of wine. We sat and talked about stuff….how hard it was to trust and share, and not have someone to hold hands with. Then he took my hand, and said something like ‘will mine do for now?’
Uh, yeah…..and I pretty much haven’t let go since….

  • Welcome...

...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.
