Success!

Yesterday, Eldest Daughter calls, all squealy and excited. 'Mom! My tulips, they are poking up through the mulch!', she cried. These are the tulips we planted last fall on my trip to Philly to see her new digs.

What prompted her to check on afore-mentioned tulips was a call from her younger sister, bespeaking of her own tulips, showing foliage.

I have raised Gardeners!

I am so proud.

Now...for something completely different...I feel the need to address some of yesterday's comments.

Lynne-sometimes newly planted rhizomes need re-seating. That freeze-thaw cycle may heave them out. Keep the good thoughts. Not all make it all the time.

Wunx~-the kittie girls have only been interested in the ends before they are woven in. They are such old lady kitties.

And to my wonderful, supportive sisters...about my filling all my baskets...blah blah blah! You're just jealous.

How could you NOT raise gardeners??? You have the greenest(and I mean BARLEY GREEN) thumb of all the family who lives in Colorado!
I'm not jealous. WS

Oh gardeners, almost as good as raising knitters. None of ours has the green thumb, but one of them is trying. My tulips are peaking out of the ground, too and the early narcissus is almost in bloom. It's always exciting this time of year.

I am not jealous of your eggs or your baskets - They are lovely, but I already have lovely eggs and lovely baskets. I guess you already know that, since I got them all from you!

I have been checking my iris gifted to me by you, and haven't seen any signs of life yet, but they are in a garden on the tundra side of my house (north). And yes, the squeak is gone, to be replaced by an as yet undiagnosed knock.

Yep, things are coming up in Philly. And, I'm loving it!! I'm ready for spring.

I'm thinking indoor tomato plants this year. I want some of my own home grown ones.
