Early Childhood Adventures

Of late, Dearest Sister has asked the rhetorical question 'What were they thinking?'!

She is referring a photo of me as a child, less protected from the cold than I might be, and then makes a broad assumption that it might have led to my current 'obsession with woolen hand knits'.

Obsession? I think not!

I know obsession, and this is not it. I manage very well to keep my compulsions well balanced, thank you very much!

However. I do think that I see the reason I have been chilled much of my life.

Again, we see the devotion of elder siblings, in this case Deeply Missed Sister, taking time out of her busy social schedule to teach her baby sis self defense.

While wearing Daddy's boots.

But no coat.

Or long pants.

With snow on the ground.

Hmmm.

What were they thinking?

The thinking was probably "Well, if that's what she wants, take her outside for JUST A MINUTE and take a picture." As I recall, when the little girl wanted something, we ALL complied and quickly!! Love, WS

Giving the benefit of the doubt, the snow appears to be melting, so perhaps it was the first thaw in many weeks and you had been cooped up inside just dying to spar in the great outdoors. Or maybe it was just that there was no flash on the camera, so it had to be staged outside...

Haha, that's a great photo. Maybe the weather that day was like it was here today! It was close to 60, but the snow's still on the ground because it's still in the process of melting.

Then again, I guess 60 is pretty chilly for a baby... actually, I don't know. Last time I had any close contact with a baby was my brother, who's only three years younger than me. So I guess I shouldn't talk!

Are you sure you didn't dress yourself? All the pictures I have of my kids in odd outfits were because I had to document the things they insisted on wearing. But I agree, it was probably too cold to let you out in that.
