Dearest Sister goes on about how she followed me in a ‘baggy pants kind of way’.
This weekend I asked her to tutor me about podcasts. After her lesson, I had to find my own way, though, not using an iPod, or iTunes. I had a bad experience with iTunes flaking out my Vista registry on my previous, and now dead, computer, so I use a different player on the new nifty neato laptop. The Windows/Mac folk probably have it fixed now, but Windows player works just fine and dandy, and twice burned is learned for me...at least in this case. Dearest Sister has a sweet iPod her Mister gifted her that she uses.
Anyway.
The world of podcasts is now opened up to me. I can hear the voices, finally, of the words I read. I am excited!
Any suggestions for some must-hears?
In other news. I have nearly two dozen eggs knitted, and will be almost out of tail ends of dishclothe cotton yarn when the last two eggs are complete. I am a bit concerned, though. Grandbebe Girl came by today, and walked right by my proud display with nary a glance.
Hmmmm.
P.S. Kathleen? They are filled with fiber loft, not m&m's!
Also, a photo of the bow-tie neck knot thingie (by Katherine Burgess) I completed a bit ago. Not a bit deal, except for the fact that I chose to knit it out of yesterday's mentioned handspun. As I was knitting, I was seeing how it would look great as the edging for the MLCB...possibly.
See. That's the thing with me. I see dyed roving, and have absolutely no idea what sort of yarn it will turn out to look like, or how yarn will look knitted up. It's just so hit and miss. I swear. If I buy some yarn, with a pattern in mind, and it comes together, it's a miracle.

...to my humble effort. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, and I hope you find something mildly interesting, slightly amusing, barely creative, or at the very least, not too terribly trite.

I believe your presentation is the problem with the eggs. Put them in something that has a handle - a basket, or purse. As I recall, fashionable young ladies of that age love to carry things in thier purses! She is probably not allowed to play with things in egg cartons, generally....
I forgot about the podcast question. This American Life is one of my favorites. Also, The Moth, From Our Own Correspondent, and Fresh Air. And The News From Lake Wobegon. Needless to say, I get behind on them and usually have to have a marathon of listening while walking, or stitching.
Well, I would say you have had your share of miracles!! Of your completed projects that I have seen, the yarn and pattern seem pre-destined. Love, WS
The yarn is amazing!
In the sidebar on my blog I have a very short list of 4 podcasts I listen to: 2 quilting and 2 knitting. I used to listen to e-town but was so far behind I had to dump something. I will still occasionally listen because I still like it! Recorded mainly in Boulder.
Look at those eggs! I certianly wouldn't be able to walk by them with nary a glance. They're just begging to be handled and admired.
no M&Ms? Well...I had high hopes....I can find M&Ms here, but not fiber loft. Most people here stuff things with some kind of unwashable filling that molds and mildews and begins to stink over a bit of time. I have a couple of pillows like that. GAH!
M&Ms are my only recourse.
