Silverado (we think). Very fragrant!
And then there are these. Not tall bearded, and funny in the bud formation.

And Tanzanian Tangerine surprised me today! One bloom stalk on a freshly relocated rhizome from last year. Always a gift. In fact, there are several bloom stalks that have shot up this week with the warmer than usual weather.
I am seeing some lilacs blooming around town, but mostly white and other hybrid varieties, or bushes in very protected places. My backyard bushes, the old fashioned kind, are not opening up. I think the really cold night a few weeks ago ‘nipped them in the bud’, as it were. So sad…but it’s always a race between the last frost and the lilacs here. This year, weather won. I love lilacs. Maybe next year.

I want to let Dearest Sister know that her former neighbor (across the street) has a fantastic stand of iris. Also, something bright red is blooming on the lot where her former flowers stood. Did you remember Sissy's b'day??? Love, WS
Thank you! I have never seen such a clump of HD&M! They love their new home, obviously! I think the name of the median will come to me. It is something like Band Box, or Marching Band, or Marine Band, or something. I will research! DS
Really? Hot dog & mustard? I LOVE THEM! Gorgeous, gorgeous. Makes me want to eat them up. :) I have never seen such a color before.
And Tanzanian Tangerine ... wow.
You'd better hire a security guard right now because on my upcoming trip to CO I just might drive by your house and start digging ...
(just kidding!) ;)
