Halloween

It has been documented that Halloween is the most decorated holiday after Christmas, and I can believe it.

Wonderful Guy and I don’t go all out, but we do have a few little things we enjoy putting up.

This is Wonderful Guy’s contribution. He is in charge of the stuffing and constructing each year.

I made the ‘scary birds’ a couple years ago. We have green light bulbs in lamps that throw ‘eerie’ light from behind that make them really scary!

My little yo-yo ‘place-mat’ is made of Halloween fabric, and made of penny size yo-yos. I was glad when I ran out of fabric. I was tired of it already.

The wreath joined the family from a festival booth in Kentucky many years ago. A little cheesy but what the heck! It works for the few weeks each year it is hung up.

Beyond a few other little knick knacks sitting around here and there, one or two of which I will forget to collect when it comes time to put it all away, that is the extent of our Halloween spirit.

Until it comes to candy.

I am all about the good stuff. The chocolate stuff.

Wonderful Guy is all about getting his share.

Love your birds. They make me think of griffins. Did you paint them onto a sheet?

Paula - they are cut out of weed fabric, and sewn on to muslin! I found the idea at Martha Stewarts website about 4 years ago. There were 4 or 6 different birds, but I only had 2 windows that really worked to show them off.

Holloween candy is the best candy of the year! I am trying to maintain discipline, but when it comes to fun sized snickers, it is very difficult!

(I think your birds are some of the best h-ween effects I have seen!)

My friend Rhonda and her son Dane came trick or treating when Dane was 4 or 5. Levi was just a baby I guess. Dane got his candy from the dish and I told he and Rhonda bye and they headed out the door and down the steps then Dane turned around and said "I'm sorry you couldn't decorate for Halloween!"
I have decorated for Halloween every year since!

Oh I remember those pinwheel things, I never finished mine. Love the Halloween decorations. I do a bunch but I like carving the pumpkin the best.
